Charity of the Month:

Hungry Kids Project

In April, Caring for America hosted Judy Stencel, the Special Populations Coordinator for the Prescott Unified School District at the luncheon. She showed us how they care for their population of needy students with grace and care. We collected $395 in donations for the PUSD program.

This month, the Chino Valley Educational Foundation Board President, Wayne Ballard, will talk about how they support the needs for their Hungry Kids Project, Weekend Meals for Students, Homeless Family Assistance and much more. RWOP is accepting food donations as listed below for both organizations at the May 19 Luncheon.

Our next collection is in June, when we will be collecting backpacks and school supplies for both school districts. You can pick up a list of school supplies for the June collection at the Caring for America Table on May 19. The school supply list will also be published in the June newsletter.

ITEMS NEEDED for PUSD & Chino Valley Education Foundation “Hungry Kids Project”:

Food (easily opened items): Spaghetti or other pasta, Cans of Spaghetti sauce, Peanut butter, Jelly in plastic or squeeze bottles, Granola Bars, Cereal, Canned meat (especially chicken), Canned Pasta (SpaghettiOs, Ravioli), Chicken Noodle Soup, Macaroni & Cheese, Pop Tarts, Instant Oatmeal, Packets of Applesauce, Individual packs of canned fruit, Jello & Pudding, Meat Sticks, Pancake Mix and Syrups, Crackers of any kind, Cheese & crackers, Peanut butter & crackers, Canned chili, Small packs of cookies, chips & snacks, Bottled water, Bottled sports drinks (Gatorade, etc.)
